Bettie Hall Prewett, 90, gave up on her long love affair with life Oct. 27, 2005.
She was born March 6, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She moved to Long Beach, California at the age of four when her father sold his funeral home business and moved to an Oceanside climate. Bettie attended schools in Long Beach and Los Angeles where she graduated from Los Angeles High School. She worked as a clerk for a stationary business where she met her husband, Jean Norvin Prewett.
Bettie and Norvin operated a livery stable at a Colorado Mountain Resort for several years after World War II. They moved to Boulder, where she worked as a clerk for the County. After retirement they moved to Sun City West. They loved to travel and saw most of the United States. Norvin and Bettie were married for fifty-six years when he passed away in 1994. After her husband's death she continued to live in her own home until her ninetieth birthday.
Six months ago she moved into the Lakeside Aspen Pond Assisted Living facility to be close to a nephew. She lived there until her placement in hospice care.
Bettie is survived by 10 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; 10 great great nieces and nephews and three great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norvin, her parents, three sisters and her brother.
Betties ashes will be spread in the Colorado Mountains that she loved.
