MCCORMICK, Mike


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/01/2005 Mike McCormick, 87, died Thursday, Oct.27, 2005 at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside. He was born Sept. 16, 1918 in Concho, West Virginia. Mike served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 158th Infantry Bushmasters. He was a Beekeeper for many years and thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman and was looking forward to his elk-hunting trip at the beginning of December. Mike is survived by his daughter, Evelyn (Tim) Beckett of Yuma; sons, Mike (Nora) McCormick of Springerville and Robert (Kris) McCormick of Yuma; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his sister Clara Wyatt of Hughes Spring, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at the Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Ave., Yuma, AZ. A viewing will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3 at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Desert Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Yuma. Memorial contributions may be made to RTA Hospice of the White Mountains, 1789 W. Commerce Dr., Lakeside, AZ 85929.
