PERRY, Gaylon Lee


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/08/2005 Gaylon Lee Perry died Nov. 5, 2005 quietly at home in Apache Junction, Arizona with his wife of 51 years, Darleta, by his side. Gaylon was born April 3, 1927 in Joplin, Missouri. He grew up in Oklahoma, lived with family in Fresno, Calif. for 20 years, and the Taylor-Snowflake area in Arizona for 22 years. He served in the army for six years, and was awarded several metals during service. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 for over 44 years. Gaylon was known for his strong work ethic, kind nature and outgoing personality. Family members knew him best for his singing and his poetry. He will be greatly missed. Gaylon is survived by his wife, Darleta Perry; five children, Andalea Crank, Lyle Perry, Milinda Awes, Cindy Lawrence, and Tambra Bane; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation and funeral services will be held at the Silver Creek Mortuary, 745 Paper Mill Rd, Taylor. Viewing will be held from 4-8- p.m. Tuesday, Nov 8. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9. Interment will be at Taylor Cemetery. Arrangements by Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor.
