OWSLEY, Stephen Ray


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/18/2005 Stephen Ray Owsley, 43, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 in Snowflake. He was born Jan. 11, 1962 in Nashville, Tenn. Stephen grew up in Nashville and in Lubbock, Texas where he graduated from high school. He joined the Job Corps and received his Masters Degree in Auto Mechanics. He was married for 17 years and in this union he had three children, Jonathan, Lindsey and Lacy. Stephen later moved to Snowflake, here he lived with Ingrid Schifeling-Norlund for four years. He loved this part of the country. Stephen never met a stranger; he was immediately loved by everyone who met him. He was very caring and out going and one of the kindest persons you'd ever met. He was in awe of nature and loved the outdoors. Stephen also had a passion for cooking; he had planned to enter his mother's recipe for Chess Pie in the County Fair. Stephen will be missed deeply by Ingrid's family including her two daughters, Sumer Schifeling and Sara Schifeling; her mother, Linda Norlund and her sisters, Linda Fitzgerald and Terry Norlund. The world was a better place because of Stephen. He is survived by his mother Lila Applegate of Centerville, Tenn.; father, Ray Owsley of Miami, Fla.; children, Jonathan, Lindsay and Lacy Owsley of Rogers, Arkansas; and his brothers, Donny Tarkenton of Dixon, Tenn., Randal Owsley of Chula Vista, Calif. and Robert Applegate of Lyles, Tenn. Funeral Services will be held in Centerville, Tennessee. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
