Willits (CA) News Wednesday, June 9, 2010 Martha G Rohrs passed away at 2am on Monday, May 31, 2010, at the age of 95. She was born to G.G. Johns and Ellen Henegan Johns on April 22, 1915, in De Smet, South Dakota. The ninth of 10 children, she is survived by her brother, Raymond Johns of Wickenburg, Arizona. She and her husband of 62 years, Lester A (Mike) Rohrs, moved to Southern California in 1945 after he was discharged from the army, and raised two sons: Dennis Rohrs, and Samuel Rohrs. Her husband died there in 1999. In 2000 she moved to Willits to be near her son Dennis, his wife, and their extended family. She lived very happily in Redwood Meadows apartments and enjoyed activities at the William F Harrah Senior Center, where she made many friends. She took up residence at Northbrook Rehabilitation and Care Home, in 2008 where she was given excellent attention and treated with loving kindness and respect. Beside her husband and siblings, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Sam. She is survived by Dennis and wife Kitty Rohrs of Willits; daughter in law Marcie Rohrs; grandchildren Tyson Rohrs and wife Lourdes, and Jennifer Scofield and great-grandchildren of Medford, Oregon, Step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren in California, and many nieces and nephews, also survive her. She will be remembered for her kindness, for her wit and for her sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr John Glyer and the other doctors and staff at Baechtel Creek Medical Clinic, who cared so efficiently and kindly for her since her move to Willits. We know you extended the time and quality of her life here. A private burial will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park, in Whittier. If desired, memorials may be made in her name to the William F Harrah Senior Center.
