The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/02/2005 Iris Lee LeSueur, 82, left this life Nov. 28, 2005 at the Carriage House in Snowflake. Iris passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughters. She was born to Marion and Ella Lee in Nutrioso, Jan. 27, 1923. Iris married Grover B. LeSueur Aug. 19, 1947. She worked as a secretary and office manager for the Round Valley School District for many years. Iris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her compassion, service to family, strength, sense of humor and love of family and friends. She loved music, dancing, playing the piano, reading, traveling and gardening. She also loved sewing clothing for her family and made many beautiful quilts. Iris was well known for being a good homemaker and cook. She was an active member of the LDS church throughout her life. Her survivors include daughters, Joella (John) Brown, Cherylann (John) Thompson; grandchildren Tosha, Brett, Derek, Chelsea, Lacy, Cash, Kristy, Justin, Josh and Jordan; brothers Maxie Lee and Loran Lee; sisters LaVerne Slade, Gwen Hillman, and Ida Mae Jones; and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Grover B. LeSueur; sons, Laverl Smith, Craig LeSueur; and a grandson Chance LeSueur. Funeral services are planned for Saturday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Springerville Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burnham Mortuary handled the arrangements.
