James A. Britton, 65 of Sun City died Nov. 23, 2005 at his daughter's residence in Flower Mound, Texas.
He was born Jan. 16, 1940 in Massillon, Ohio to Hiram and Leola Essinger Britton. James served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era where he was an Airman First Class in the security service. He married Barbara Forester March 18, 1961 in Massillon, Ohio, then moved to Arizona in 1968 where he worked as an electrical and planning supervisor for 28 years.
James took early retirement from Tucson Electric Power due to health reasons in 1997. James and Barbara moved to Sun City in 2001.
During retirement James was involved with authoring two works in progress and the building of model homes and coaches to scale. His foremost position was his dedication to taking care of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Julia Mitchell (Jim) of Snowflake, and Melynda Weiland (Robb) of Flower Mound, Texas; one sister, Jean Hagg (Victor) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; one brother, Paul Britton (Marilyn) of Massillon, Ohio; and one grandson, Sheldon Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at Menke Funeral Home in Sun City Dec. 10, at 11 a.m.
Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville, Texas in charge of arrangements.
