The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/09/2005 Lillian M. Raynor died Nov. 28, 2005. She was born April 7, 1918 in Muskegon Heights, Michigan to Ignatius and Carolina Cierlak. Lillian served in the Women's Army Corp during World War II. She was an educator in Las Vegas, Nevada and Casa Grande, until her retirement in 1978. Lillian was a summer visitor to the White Mountains from 1963 until the mid 90s, when her health declined. In the past she was a parishioner of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Show Low and a parishioner of St. Steven's Catholic Church in Sun Lakes where she resided until her death. She was an avid reader and doll collector. She had strong concerns about the protection of wildlife and wilderness lands. She was also an advocate for the humane treatment of domestic animals. She is survived by daughters, Mary Raynor of Show Low and Patricia Raynor of Alexandria, Va.; sisters, Marcella Stafford, Leona Hecksel; brother, Carl Cierlak; and sister-in-law, Elaine Cierlak. She was preceded in death by husband, Thomas N. Raynor; and brothers, Chester Cierlak and Casmer Cierlak. A memorial mass was held Saturday, Dec. 3 at St. Stevens Catholic Church in Sun Lakes. Bueler Mortuary of Chandler handled arrangements.
