The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/09/2005 Hodge Rasmussen, 89, of Pinetop died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005 at Navapache Regional Medical Center. Mr. Rasmussen was born Aug. 21, 1916 at Ranger Lake, New Mexico, the son of George and Buleah (Hodge) Rasmussen. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Following graduation from Arizona State University he was involved with the public schools of Ajo, Phoenix and Coolidge. From 1970 until 1976 he and his wife Anne owned and operated the Nip and Tuck Liquor Store. He was an avid golfer in his younger days and was known as the hole-in-one champ of the White Mountains. He had six acres at Pinetop Lakes Golf and Country Club and two at the Municipal Golf Courses in Tempe. He was a thirty-second degree Scottish Rite Mason, an active member of Whiteriver Lodge No. 62 A.F. and A.M. Pima Lodge No. 39 and the Scottish Rite Bodies of Tucson. He is survived by his son, Thomas Lee of Kingman; daughter, Julianne of Phoenix; sister, Betty Dumond of Temple; and a large number of nieces and nephews in Arizona and other states. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, in 1997. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12 at Church of Our Savior Episcopal Church with Rev. Jim Porter officiating. Masonic Rites will be performed by Whiteriver Lodge No. 62 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Committal will be at the columbarium at St. Michaels Church in Coolidge at a later date.
