The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/16/2005 Rubye P. Ratjen, 91, died Dec. 13, 2005 at Bannon Springs Assisted Living in Vernon. She was born to Charles and Sally (Corum) White July 21, 1914 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a former resident of Oak Ridge, Tenn. from 1950 to 2004. Rubye retired from Union Carbide in 1977 after 21 years of service. Prior to that she worked at Roane for several years. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Patty Febbo of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Willistene Patty Strandquist of Lakeside, Carlene Patty Scholtz, who was her caretaker in Show Low, and one step-daughter, Joan Wallace of Oak Ridge, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husbands Carl U. Patty and Harold J. Ratjen; daughter, Laverne Patty Jackson; grandson, Michael Strandquist; parents Charles and Sally White; three sisters and a brother. Services are pending. A private graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Oak Ridge, Tenn. Arrangements were handled by Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
