The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/06/2006 D. J. Taylor, 79, of Show Low, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. Mr. Taylor was born April 19,1926, at Mead, Oklahoma, the son of Buddy Elmore and Donna Edith (Gentry) Taylor. He was raised and attended school in Paduka, Texas. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He came to Arizona 60 years ago, living in Tucson from 1950 to 1973, and moved to the White Mountains in 1973. He worked as a self employed roofer, and was an avid NASCAR fan. His survivors include a daughter, Teresa (Jason) Sherwood of Show Low; three sons, Bud Taylor of Tucson, Monte (Susie) Taylor of Tucson and Wayne (Pam) Taylor of Flagstaff; two brothers, Jim and Jack Taylor of Texas; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 9 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
