MOODY, Oral Ray


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/06/2006 Oral Ray Moody, 75, died Dec. 31, 2005 in Lakeside. Ray was born in Lamesa, Texas, and has lived in Show Low since 1981. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. Prior to his retirement he worked as a civil engineer for El Paso Natural Gas. Ray attended the First Baptist Church in Show Low for many years. He loved yard work, rock hunting, woodwork and traveling throughout the country. Ray is survived by his wife, Kathryn Moody of Show Low; three sons, Luther Ray Moody of Mobile, Alabama, Gene Lewis of Bellflower, Calif., and Ronald H. (Stephanie) Lewis of Vernon; brother, George (Dorothy) of Tucson, Arizona; and sister, Billie (Bob) Newton of Lubbock, Texas. He was preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Clements; his father, Oral Clements, his mother Mary and Stepfather Jack Moody. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4 at the First Baptist Church in Show Low. Burial will be in the Show Low Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to RTA Hospice of the White Mountains, 1789 W. Commerce Dr., Lakeside, AZ 85929. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
