Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, October 27, 2009 Fern Paulene Dally died on Oct. 25, 2009. She was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Cambria, Iowa, daughter of William and Eva Camden, the second of eight children. After graduating from Corydon Iowa High School, she worked as a telephone operator in Detroit, Mich., during World War II. She moved to California where she managed the Boyertown Casket Company in Los Angeles for many years. She was very proud of being selected Business Woman of the Year for Los Angeles. She married Gordon Dally on Jan. 29, 1956. While they lived in California, Fern and Gordon were active members of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Bell Gardens, Calif. Fern took flying lessons and loved flying with Gordon in their Beech Bonanza on their many trips. They traveled frequently to the Lake Havasu area, where they loved to fish and water ski. After retiring, they settled in Lake Havasu City and became members of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Fern was very active in the Ladies Guild of the congregation. Her smile warmed many of their gatherings. Fern is survived by her husband, Gordon; and her brother, Bob. She was preceded in death by both parents and six siblings. Fern now awaits the resurrection. Blessed be her memory. The funeral service will be at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 3163 Maricopa Ave., at 10 a.m. Thursday. A committal service at Havasu Memorial Gardens will follow.
