Barbara A. Gray, 73, of Grants, N.M., went to heaven on June 4, 2010, surrounded by family in Albuquerque, N.M. She was born Aug. 8, 1936, in Sterling, Ill., to Hugh and Bernice Hardacre.
Barb, as many of her friends and colleagues knew her, was a woman of great ambitions, love and strength. Barb was a teacher for over 40 years. Children were her whole life, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always said her biggest joy was to see children's faces light up when they had finally learned something they had been struggling with. Those times made her felt she had succeeded.
Barb is preceded in death by her husband Donovan; daughter Sharon Kay Anliker; and parents Hugh and Bernice Hardacre.
She is survived by daughter Phyllis (Jim) Stephens of Monticello, Ind.; son Steve (Peggy) Anliker of Wickenburg, Ariz.; stepson Clint (Rachael) Gray of Bagdad Ariz.; stepdaughter Debbie Coffey of Phoenix Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandsons.
She will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Ariz.
