Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, October 15, 2009 Albert L. Gebolys, 81, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. He was born on March 7, 1928, in Muskegon, Mich., to Albert and Regina (Meicski) Gebolys. In June 1947, Albert enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, proudly serving his county during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in June 1952 attaining the rank of staff sergeant. Upon his return, Albert went to work for Bennett Pumps in Muskegon where he worked as a welder. Among his hobbies: hunting and fishing on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He also enjoyed watching the football games on TV. In 2001, Albert and his wife Shirley made Lake Havasu City their home, moving from Muskegon. They were members of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Albert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley; son, Gregory Gebolys of Fruitport, Mich.; daughter, Karla Vermeulen of Rothbury, Mich.; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
