The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/06/2006 Ethel Lund Coleman, 98, of Tempe, died Jan. 1, 2006. She was born in Nutrioso Feb. 17, 1907, and was the sixth child of sixteen born to William Guy and Lucinda Margaret Lee Lund. Ethel, a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, married the late Joseph Everett Coleman in 1927. They were instrumental in helping promote the growth and development of the Round Valley area building and operating the El Jo Motor Inn and the Safire Restaurant during the 1940's in Springerville. Ethel served in numerous church as well as civic positions during her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her parents and 13 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters Betty Jo (Virgil LeSueur) of Snowflake, and Dorothy Claire (the late Dr. Marlowe Denham) of Tempe; her son, Dr. Norman Kenny Coleman (Barbara) of Arlington, Virg., and a brother and sister. Ethel had 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 21 great, great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Bunker's Garden Chapel located at 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the LDS College and Alameda Stake Center located at 2707 S. College Ave. Tempe. Interment will be at the Eagar Cemetery in Eagar Saturday at 1 p.m.
