SIMMONS, Lucy Mae

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/13/2006 Lucy Mae Simmons, 81, died Dec. 20, 2005. She was born Aug. 24, 1924 in Henrietta, Okla. She was a 28-year summer resident of Lakeside, was an avid seamstress, painter and craftmaker. She made dozens of quilts of high quality, which she gave to her grandchildren, children, to some of her favorite nieces and nephews and also to her sisters-in-law and friends. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one son and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L.; son, Jack E. James; and grandson Jasper Simmons. A memorial service was held Jan. 7. Best Funeral Home, 501 E. Dunlap in Phoenix handled arrangements.
