Blanche Marshall Sterba Miller, age 80, born in St. Paul, Minn., made her transition Feb. 27, 2010. She was a resident of Prescott, Ariz.
Blanche was an ordained metaphysical minister, was proficient in the Healing Art of Chi Kung and 3rd degree Reiki, an artist, writer, craft person of all dimensions. She sewed, crocheted, did counted cross-stitch. In her younger years she sang in a choir and played the piano. She was always good for a laugh and was still learning to cook at the time of her passing. Past Matron of Golden Rule Chapter #1, Order of the Eastern Star of Prescott, Ariz., being a member of the order for 49 years. She volunteered at Yavapai Regional Medical Center West campus gift shop for five and a half years contributing over 1,500 hours in 2007.
Blanche left Minnesota and moved to California in 1954. She was secretary to the plant engineer of Robertshaw-Grayson in Long Beach. In 1958, she married her boss, Frank S. Miller. In 1994, she moved to Prescott, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas M. Sterba, Sr., and her mother, Iris I. Anderson Sterba; husband, Frank S. Miller, an infant son and infant daughter.
She is survived by her brothers, Thomas M. Sterba, Jr. and Roger M. Sterba (Laurice); step family, daughter, Sue A. Dougherty, grandson, Stephen P. Dougherty (Kelli), great grandson, Bradley A. Dougherty, stepson, Alan Miller, his three daughters; seven grandchildren; many relatives and friends and her 13-year-old cat, Puddins.
A gathering of remembrance is planned. Geri McCoy is in charge of the cake.
