Born in Valparaiso, Ind., to Merrill and Barbara Hardel, Sandy graduated from Prescott High School and received her B.A. from Bethany Nazarene College, Bethany, Okla., in elementary education. She was awarded her master's degree from Northern Arizona University in special education.
Sandy taught school in Mayer, Prescott and Bagdad, Ariz., until 1995, when multiple sclerosis became too disabling. She married Richard Green in 1996.
Sandy is survived by her mother, Barbara; two brothers, Robert and Traci Hardel of Kouts, Ind., and Mark and Dianna Hardel of Dewey, Ariz.; one sister, Diane and Mathew Smith of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; along with nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Heritage Memory Mortuary in Prescott. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010, at the Prescott First Church of the Nazarene at Willow Creek and Pulliam. Interment will follow at Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey.
