WILLIAMS, Albert M. (Mickey)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday June 4, 2010 Mickey (Albert M.) Williams passed away peacefully on June 1, 2010. He was born, Oct. 15, 1939, in Prescott, Ariz., to Woody and Marjorie (Walker) Williams. He grew up in and around Prescott and Flagstaff in 1954. He went to Bagdad to work in the Copper mine - first the Old Bruce and then Bagdad Copper, where he remained until his retirement in 1994 after 39 1/2 years. After retiring, Mickey moved to his home in Phoenix and spent most of his time working on one project after the other. Then in 2009 he moved to Peoria, Ariz. He loved to fish and hunt, and always looked forward to the next deer season. He took special pride in all his grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them a lot. For everyone who had the privilege of knowing Mickey on a personal level, his good deeds, gruff personality, and kind heart left the most significant and long-lasting impression. Over the years, he gave of his time, energy and support so generously and willingly in ways too many to mention. Mickey's passing surely leaves a deep void, and he will be sorely missed. He leaves his wife, friend and partner Mary Williams of Peoria; children Keith, Neal (Chris), Curtis, Jayson and Justin (April) Williams, Roxanne (George) Jaurequi, Reann Myers, and Donna (Kevin) Gronback; 18 grandchildren; siblings Donna Jo Wagner, Karen Fuller, Pam Atwater, Sharon Sukoksy, Ivy Love, Rod Sipes and Mark Sipes; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Marjorie and Garnett Sipes and Woody and Mary Williams; and siblings Mohea Whitaker, Margie Bell Williams, Bud Williams and Garnet Sipes Jr. The memorial service for Mickey will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Best Funeral Services Inc., West Valley Chapel, 9380 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria, AZ 85345. Information provided by survivors.
