Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, September 15, 2009 Joan Mary Marasco passed away Sept. 11, 2009, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 77. She was born to Wesley and Elizabeth (Gerback) Wilkens on May 8, 1932 in Danbury, Conn. Joan married her beloved husband, Ralph in 1955 and together they made Lake Havasu City their home four years ago from Danbury, Conn. She worked as a waitress for 50 years and worked for Windmill Diner in Danbury, Conn. Joan was an avid keno and bingo player. Her nickname was ‘Joanie Maroni’. Joan leaves behind her beloved family; sons, Ralph Marasco and Richard Marasco; daughter, JoAnn Cocozza, all of Lake Havasu City; brother, John Gerback, of Florida; sister, Sharon Arenz, of Litchfield, Conn.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph John Marasco. A visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary said at 7 p.m. Entombment will take place at St. Peter’s Chapel and Garden Mausoleum in Danbury, Conn.
