Dorothy Lamb, 86, passed on to Heaven to her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born on June 18, 1923 in Washington D.C. to John W. and Anna Marie Corcoran.
Dorothy was affectionately known as Dottie to all her friends and family. Dottie served 20 years as a technical editor for secret military government manuals. Dottie eventually worked in a high position under President Richard Nixon and retired at age 50. She and her husband, William Lamb, now deceased, lived in High Point, North Carolina.
After Dottie retired they moved to Mt. Gilead, North Carolina. After her husbands death, Dottie visited friends in Lake Havasu City, fell in love with the warm dry climate and made Lake Havasu City her home in 1989.
Dottie was an avid Scrabble player and enjoyed quilting and serving at her Church, Mount Olive Lutheran. Dottie was loved and appreciated by family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Dottie is survived by a nephew, Ronald Wood of Alexandria, VA.; niece, Frances Culler of High Point, VA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Marie Corcoran (Colson), father, John W. Corcoran, brother, George Lamb and sister, Anna Ratcliffe.
Her memorial service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jim Price officiating. Refreshments will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family can make donations to Lake Havasu City Salvation Army, 2049 Swanson Ave, LHC. 86403 or the Alliance Defense Fund, 15100 N. 90th Street, Scottsdale, AZ. 85260, two favorite Christian organizations Dottie believed in and supported.
