Porter Franklin Dean
Porter Dean, 81, died at his home in Springerville Jan. 22, 2006.
He was born in Rainelle, W. Va. Jan. 4, 1925 to Forrest P. Dean and Dora Whitman Dean. His home has been in Arizona for the past 30 years.
Porter enjoyed the outdoors and had a passion for music of all kinds and handcrafted 15 violins during the course of his retirement. He was a retired iron worker and a member of the Local No. 75.
His survivors include his wife, Odis, Springerville; sons David Franklin (Keri Joy) Dean, Springerville and Porter Forrest (Sylvia) Dean, Nev.; brothers Bobbie Weise, Va.; and R.B. (Jo Anne) Dean, Va.; sisters Nancy (Eddie) Vaughn, Va.; Chlora Lucas, W. Va.; Mary Eleanor Van Starvern, Penn.; Sharon Humphreys, W. Va.; Sharon (Garland) Humphries, W. Va.; and Patricia (Dave) Lewis, S. C.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
His wife of 53 years, Hazel Rider Dean, his parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan 28 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville Chapel at 10 a.m. Visitation and viewing will begin at 9 a.m.
Burnham Mortuary, Eagar, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
