ATHERTON, Charles Preston (Cotton)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/27/2006 Charles Preston "Cotton" Atherton, 87, died Dec. 12, 2005 at RTA Hospice, in Lakeside. Cotton was was born Sept. 18, 1918 in Celeste, Texas, and was a resident of Eagar. He received his 50-Year pin as an Ironworker and spent 25 years as the business manager for Ironworkers Local No. 75. During the Depression he worked with the CC's. His survivors include his daughter, Judy (Bob) Meador; two grandchildren, Tim and Rodney; five great-grandchildren, Derik, Ryne, Robert, Dawson and Shari; and one great-great-grandson, Aiden. A son, his parents and two brothers preceded him in death. Burnham Mortuary handled the arrangements.
