Rene Garner, 53, of Lakeside, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at her home.
Rene was born Dec. 30, 1952, at Reserve, New Mexico, the daughter of Lloyd and Norma Jean Foster. She was raised and attended school there, graduating in 1971 as Salutatorian. She was married to Perry Garner May 21, 1971, at Kirkland, Texas. She received her nursing degree from Amarillo College of Nursing in 1988.
She and Perry came to the White Mountains in 1989. Rene had worked at Whiteriver PHS Indian Hospital; Navapache Regional Medical Center in Show Low and White Mountain Regional Medical Center in Springerville. She loved sewing, embroidery and needlepoint. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pinetop.
Rene is survived by her husband, Perry, of the home; a daughter, Stacie Lynn (Don) Andres of Albuquerque, N.M.; son, Jared Garner of Tucson; grandson, Ryan Taylor Andres of Albuquerque; sister, Lynna Rowell of Silver City, N.M.; brother, Coco Foster of Carlsbad, N.M.; and a stepsister, Kathy, of Albuquerque, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6, in the chapel of Black's Mortuary, Show Low. Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary.
