Maria Hatfield died peacefully at home with family Feb. 8, 2006.
She was born March 5, 1933 in Romania and survived the Nazi occupation and the Russian invasion of Hungary. She married Janos Czernics April 10, 1953 and became a freedom fighter until coming to America, Jan. 1, 1958, to realize the American dream, where she lived life to the fullest always looking for a new adventure.
Surviving her are her loving children: James, John, Paul, Edee, Richard and Mark; grandchildren, Alicia, Robert, Mathew, Lindsay, Ashley, Christine, Jessica and Mercedes.
Some will remember "Grandma" for the many fun outings they went on together with her and for her favorite comical saying, "I'll paddle your little bottom."
She was preceded in death by her sweet son, Otto. We thank you for giving us life, Mom. Rest in Peace.
Private services will be held.
Arrangements were performed caringly by Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor.
