Marshall Taylor passed away peacefully Feb. 12, 2006, at the age of 86, after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.
Marshall was a 48 year resident of the Valley, having moved his family to Scottsdale from Rockford, Illinois in 1957.
He was instrumental in starting the first Evangelical Free Church in Arizona, with Pastor Roger Henderson. He was an iron worker and participated in the construction of the bridge and dam at Glen Canyon, Deer Creek Bridge and many large buildings around the state.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joyce Taylor; his four children and their spouses, Steve and JoAnn Taylor of Show Low, Sylvia and Don Stout of Phoenix, Sue and John Ellis of Tempe, and Sally and Dave Ascenzo of Bethany, Ill.; his eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
His life will be celebrated at a memorial service Feb. 28 at Grace Church in Mesa.
