WHITE, Robert Norman


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/10/2006 Robert Norman White, age 72, passed away March 5, 2006 in Lakeside. Robert was born, raised and went to school in Wisconsin. He is a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He served in Korea, Japan and Hawaii. He married Marge Fischer on June 7, 1958 in Las Vegas. He lived in San Diego before moving to Yuma in 1960. He was employed as Civil Service Wire Chief at Yuma Proving Grounds. He came to the White Mountains following his retirement in 1988. He loved hunting, fishing and building sand buggies. He was a member of the American Legion and the NRA. He is survived by his wife Margie of Pinetop; his two sons Ronald Norman (Lori) White of Yuma and Randy Lee (Crissie Johns) White of Show Low; two grandchildren Matthew Norman White of Yuma and Savanna Johns of Show Low; his nephew Jerry Akey of Tucson; his great nephew Bill Akey of Tucson; his great niece Kim Flores of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister Elizabeth Akey and Brother Billy White. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to RTA Hospice, 1789 W. Commerce Dr., Lakeside, AZ 85929.
