SIMONE, Florence Marie


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/17/2006 Florence Marie Simone, 80, died Friday, March 10, 2006 in Payson. She was born Aug. 7, 1925 in Amarillo, Texas. After high school, Mrs. Simone attended Tulsa Business and Law School. She married Ray DeSpain and lived in Holbrook. She worked for Carl and Nancy Kempton at the Geronimo Trading Post and for the Adobe Inn. While living in New York, she won the Babe Zaharias medal for Most improved golfer in New York City. Mrs. Simone enjoyed taking care of her roses and when she had time she enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Simone is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Dale) Jackman; grandchildren, Michael and Sherry; great grandchildren, Danielle, Chelsea, Matthew, Sherri, Mandy and Mary; and one sister, Elizabeth Cathy. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray DeSpain and Pat Simone and her grandson, Danny. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
