POST, Jesse Mac


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/17/2006 Jesse Mac Post, 70, died Monday, March 13, 2006 in Overgaard. He was born in St. David, the youngest of seven children born to Clarence Evans and Maude Billingsley Post. Jesse grew up on a cattle ranch outside of Benson. He loved to play sports in school. He was an advanced Boy Scout. Growing up Jesse was active in Jr. Cattle Growers Association. He loved horses and this love stayed with him throughout his life. He loved to team rope. After high school he attended Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher for two years. He then went to work for South Pacific Railroad. On Feb. 14, 1959 he married Elaine. After Jesse married Elaine he went to work for the El Paso Natural Gas Company as an electrician. He worked for them for 31 years. With this job, the family moved a lot and saw a lot of different places. They lived in Marana for many years while the children were in school. Jesse spent a lot of time with his children in Jr. Rodeo and 4H Programs. He was an advisor for FFA, Arizona Jr. Rodeo Association and he was president of the Southern Arizona Pioneer Cowboys Association. After the children finished school and left home, Jesse and Elaine moved to Kingman where they spent 15 years. He was very active with the Kingman Elks Lodge. In 1983 Jesse built a summer cabin in Overgaard and then in April 2000 they moved to the cabin full time. Jesse liked to fish and loved the outdoors. Jesse is survived by his wife, Elaine Post of Overgaard; children, Bill (fiancé, Debrah) of Queen Creek, Leanne (Wade) Martin of Flagstaff; grandchildren, Lindsey (Clif), Jessica, Chelsea and Justin; great granddaughter, Ella. He was preceded in death by grandsons, Cody Bill and Chance. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17 at the Elks Lodge in Show Low. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Owens Mortuary in Show Low. Interment will be in the Heber Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
