Robert A. Parsons died March 1, 2006.
Bob was born Nov. 24, 1916 in Lima, Ohio to Forrest and Lena Parsons. He was a true outdoorsman (fly fishing) woodworker. A graduate of Tri State College in Angola, Indiana, he was a lifetime engineer and spent WWII in North Africa and the Middle East instructing our allies how to maintain the arms we gave them. He was a hero to the British 8th Air Force.
Bob was an Eagle Scout and a scout master for a decade and touched the lives of many young men. He was Order of the Arrow in Scouts and a Chief in the Indian Guides. Bob was a volunteer, serving on many boards, and always lent a hand and more to his friends and family during his 41 years in Pinetop, Hawley Lake and Scottsdale.
The family requests that gifts be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in lieu of flowers.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Betty neé McLaughlin; sons Peter, Mark and John; grandchildren Brian, Brad, Lena, Molly, Ceres, and Telly; great-grandchildren Jared and Dakota.
He was preceded by his first wife of 37 years, Dorothy neé Rapp.
Burial took place March 5 at Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale.
