MORTON, Karl Renold


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/21/2006 Karl Renold Morton, 78, died Monday, March 13, 2006 at his home in Pinetop. He was born during a blizzard on the morning of Jan. 29, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1945 he enlisted in the Army. His first assignment after being Commissioned Second Lieutenant was with Cannon Company, 9th infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division at Ft. Lewis in Washington. After returning from his second tour in Vietnam he married Jean Dendy. Karl retired from the Army in 1975. He then moved to Tucson, Arizona and was involved in a variety of business and civic activities and last operated a commercial real estate brokerage firm there. In May 2001 he moved to Pinetop where he continued his commercial real estate. He stayed involved in a variety of local civic and school activities. Karl is survived by his wife, Jean Morton of Pinetop; children, Karl Morton IV, Molly and Mike and two grandchildren, Kris and Brandi. No services are planned at this time. Internment will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army (928) 368-9953.
