Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, October 14, 2009 Irene Estelle Mauck, 91, passed away Oct. 12, 2009, in Kingman. She was born on July 26, 1918, in Belleville, Ill., to Anthony and Irene (Dashney) Pfeffer. Irene and her husband Arthur visited Lake Havasu City in the late ’60s, arriving on one of the many McCulloch flights. After purchasing property there, they made Lake Havasu City their home, arriving on Irene’s birthday, July 26, 1969. Irene lived in Lake Havasu City from 1969 to 1994, moved to Las Vegas, where she lived for 10 years, then made Kingman her home from 2004 until her passing. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and while living in Lake Havasu City she was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Irene loved to play Bingo at the Elks and the Knights of Columbus. Irene is survived by her daughters; Patricia Hose and her husband Andrew, of Belleville, Ill., Diane Kircher and husband Orville, of Lake Havasu City, Janet Stein and her husband Joe, of Kingman, Linda Grimes and her husband Jerry of Kingman, Darlene Watkins and her husband Dale of Phoenix; son, Arthur L. Mauck Jr., of San Francisco; sister, Virginia Schaefer, of Millstadt, Ill.; grandchildren, Pamela Miller, Daniel Hose, Julie Petersen, Carl Hose, Jeff Agne, Brent Kircher, Phyllis Lippers, Brenda Melodia, Joe Stein, Brad Kircher, Robert Stein, Michael Blomenkamp, Rebecca Johnson, Christopher Watkins; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Arthur L. Mauck Sr.; daughter, Estelle I. Agne; brothers, Elmer, Clarence, Joseph, Anthony and Leo Pfeffer; and sisters, Edna Freidrich, Pearl Ripplinger, Dorothy Tipp and Sophie Schrantz. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church Monday, 10 a.m. Father Chauncey Winkler will offer words of comfort and inspiration. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Following services, a reception will be held at the Holy Family Parish Center at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.
