Peggy Leone Meliza, 87, passed away Nov. 28, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. She was born to Porter and Elsie (Hepperley) Blue on Nov. 10, 1922, in Chenoa, Ill.
Peggy married her best friend on Oct. 13, 1941, and together they made Lake Havasu City their home 33 years ago from Peoria, Ill. She worked in Illinois and Arizona as a self-employed seamstress for 30 years. Peggy was a member of the VFW since 1942.
Peggy leaves behind her beloved family; son, Kenneth Meliza, of Makanda, Ill.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; son, John Meliza; and sister, Durella Young.
A memorial service will take place today at 2 p.m. at the VFW Post 9401.
