John Joseph Lenski, 75, passed away June 20, 2010, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born July 26, 1934, in Iola, Kan., to Francis and Mary (O'Grady) Lenski.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, then went on to graduate from the University of Alabama in 1959. He entered the healthcare industry and was involved in allergy diagnostics and immunotherapy. He was a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the Illinois Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and was one of the few non-physician members of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
After moving to the Prescott area, John became a Rotary member in Prescott Valley. He was also a Big Brother, Toastmaster, and accomplished speaker - an extrovert extraordinaire. John was very kind, always helped people and was a great teacher and facilitator. He was a great husband and father to his loving wife and children.
John is survived by his wife of over 53 years Margary Lenski; sons John J. Lenski Jr. (Marsha), Grady Lenski (Marilyn), Francis Lenski (Theresa) and Erik Lenski (Roberta); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters Dr. Marita Scimeca and Leeanna Reidy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Frank Lenski, sister Marlene Lenski and infant sister Mary Catherine Lenski.
Memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott with inurnment to follow at the Prescott National Cemetery.
