Thomas Vincent Mannion, 69 of Sun City passed away June 7, 2010, in Surprise, AZ. He was born April 5, 1941, in Bronx, NY. He moved to Arizona in 1976.
Tom was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and among his passions was: loving his children & grandchildren, cooking, watching John Wayne movies & reading history.
Mr. Mannion is survived by his wife Yvonne Mannion; son Kevin Mannion; daughters Erin Mannion, Tiffany Calpin, and Jonná Mannion; sister Liz Nardi; and grandchildren Maryn and Tessa Calpin.
Tom began working as a teenager in the mailroom of a local Sear’s store. He performed so well, he was promoted, at age 19, to supervisor of the collections department. After attending college, Tom chose to go into medical sales, for which he was employed 22 years. Upon leaving the medical field, he continued sharing & teaching his passion for sales when he & his wife, Yvonne, became professional chocolatiers.
For 8 years Tom & Yvonne owed & operated a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory franchise in Tempe, AZ. Known as ‘Mr. M’, Tom was respected & loved by his employees. Tom will be remembered for his gentle spirit, compassion and sincerity.
A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, June 15 at 10am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Avondale, AZ.
