LEWIS, Elta Mae

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/21/2006 Elta Mae Hulsey Lewis died March 15, 2006 in Payson. She was born June 23, 1917 in Springerville, to Rufus Hulsey and Esther Petty-Hulsey. She was the daughter of an Arizona pioneering family. She had three brothers, John, Kenneth, Eugene and a sister, Grace. She grew up on the family farm and told many stories about the Springerville, Nutrioso, and Alpine areas. She married Lydell Mann in 1939. They had four sons, Charles, John, Harold and James. She married Orville Lewis in 1960. She is survived by her brother, Eugene; and three sons, Charles Mann (Cheryl) of Show Low, John Mann (Penny) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and James Mann (Janice) of Phoenix, also four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, her sister, and son, Harold. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Rim Country Retirement and Nursing Center and RTA Hospice.
