Alpha Florence Rue passed away on Aug. 30, 2009, at her residence at the age of 94. She was born on Feb. 3, 1915 in Westby, Mont., to Alfred and Augusta (Lien) Hjelm.
Alpha and her husband, Stan moved to Lake Havasu City 42 years ago from Denver, Colo. She was the manager for the Wings Motel, one of Havasu’s first motels.
Alpha is survived by her two brothers, Kenneth Hjelm, of Kent, Wash., and David Hjelm, of Lake Havasu City, as well as 18 nieces and nephews residing from Hawaii to the central United States.
No services will be held. Donations may be made in Alpha’s name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
