Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Monday, September 14, 2009 Norma E. Schmidt was born on March 7, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and joined her husband Donald J. Schmidt in heaven on Aug. 8, 2009. Norma was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lancaster for more than 30 years and was an active member in the LWLL. She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu City for 15 years. She ran multiple businesses with her husband including Valley TV and Furniture in Lancaster and Blue River Tours in Lake Havasu City. She volunteered at the local retirement facilities with weekly activities for many years and she became a private pilot along with her husband in 1973. Norma is survived by her three children; David Schmidt and wife Dorothy of Fresno, Calif., Connie Mansfield and husband Ed of Nixa, Mich., and Sherri Worthen and husband Greg of Lancaster, Calif. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service was held in Fresno, and Norma will be laid to rest in Fort Rosecrans at Point Loma with her husband.
