Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, August 20, 2009 May 29, 1945 – Aug. 2, 2009 Tom went to be with his Heavenly Father Aug. 2, 2009. Tom was a Lake Havasu City pioneer, arriving here to live in 1968. He was in business with his family, Cliff Chrouser and Sons Excavating. In retirement years, he loved to drive down Lake Havasu City streets and say, “I worked on that house and that house,” and so on down the streets. Tom served his country in the United States Air Force from June 1964 to June 1968. He had a passion for bowling. He said it was just fun, but he really liked to win, too. Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dee Ann; his daughter, Rebecca Lynn Quebral (Gary); granddaughter, Erica Lynn; daughter, Olivia Ann Chrouser; grandsons, Michael Anthony Szymanek (Tara), Thomas Andrew Szymanek; and great-grandson Corey James Szymanek. Tom is also survived by his brothers, Patrick Chrouser (Diane), Richard Brunstrom (Dolores), Alan Brunstrom (Helen), Bruce Brunstrom (Ann), Jack Brunstrom (Clara); and lots of wonderful nieces and nephews and cousins and especially Aunt June. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Community Presbyterian Church Aug. 29, at 1 p.m., with a military honor guard. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Mildred Chrouser and his younger brother, James Lee Chrouser. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of choice.
