GALLARDO, Maria Aurora


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Friday, June 25, 2010 Maria Aurora Gallardo, 67, of Flagstaff, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Ms. Gallardo was born Oct. 20, 1942. She graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1961 and moved to San Francisco, where she worked at Firemen's Fund Insurance Company. After a few years, she returned to Flagstaff, where she worked as a waitress at La Casita Cafe for several years, then as a sales clerk at several establishments. She also lived in Phoenix and worked as an accountant. She was a loving and giving daughter, sister, aunt and friend throughout her life. She will be greatly missed. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, having cook-outs and parties, and creating picture collages of family and friends. She had several other hobbies that she enjoyed doing. Ms. Gallardo is survived by her sisters, Victoria (Ricardo) Reyes of Globe, Cecilia Cassity of Laveen, Dora Broom and Rosalie Gallardo; brother Francisco Gallardo of Flagstaff; and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Marcelino Gallardo; mother Consuelo Gallardo; brother Gregorio Gallardo; three nephews; and brother-in-law Michael Broom. A service will be Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, 224 N. Kendrick Ave., with rosary at 10:30 a.m., Mass at 11:30 a.m. and a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial donations be made to Hospice Compassus, 1000 N. Humphreys St., Suite 220, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
