Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Monday, August 10, 2009 Edith L. DeFoe, 70, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. She was born to George and Ethel (Neibuhr) Whinnery April 14, 1939, in Troy, N.Y. On Jan. 31, 1959, Edith married her best friend Calvin DeFoe and together they made Lake Havasu City their home 36 years ago from Albany, N.Y. She worked for the Nautical Inn as a bookkeeper for several years. Edith was always a hard worker and very fun-loving and upbeat. Edith leaves behind her four daughters, Dawn, Kim, Stacey and Bambi; brothers, Jim, Tom and Leroy; sisters, Pam, Sharon and Joan; grandchildren, Cody, Jeff, Angel, Stino, Celia, Juana, Ashlee, Alex, Christopher, Breanna, Lindsay and Jose; and four great-grandchildren, Trinity, Megan, Joel and Gabriel. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is once again reunited with her true love, Calvin, who passed away Jan. 29, 2008. Memorial services will be held Aug. 13, at 11 a.m., at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Rev. Richard Rounds will offer words of comfort and inspiration.
