George T. Devlin passed from this life suddenly at home on Dec. 26, 2008. He was born in Philadelphia Dec. 18, 1919. He served proudly in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He graduated with a B.A. degree from the University of Miami in 1950. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as Manager of Damage Prevention in New Haven, Conn. George was initiated into the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Masonic Temple Concordia Lodge 67 in Philadelphia Valley and served as WM 1964-1969, 32 degree.
After moving to Lake Havasu City, George became a very active member of the Elks Lodge 2399, was named Elk of the year in 1997-98, and served on the finance committee.
George had a passion for reading and was well known at the Mohave County Library. He enjoyed dancing at the Elks with friends. George is survived by a sister, Frances Learmouth, of New Jersey; nieces, Fran Learmouth and Loretta Devlin, of New Jersey; and nephews, Charles Learmouth, of California, Jack Sturges and Jim Sturges, of New Jersey. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Gloria and George left Danielson, Conn., in 1988 and enjoyed their home in Lake Havasu City for 21 years. They considered this a wonderful move to a beautiful city they loved and where they made many close friends.
