Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, August 4, 2009 Oct. 25, 1932 — July 27, 2009 Thomas S. Hodgins "Smokey Tom,” of San Diego, an east Mohave County native, passed away in his sleep peacefully in his home in Lake Havasu City, July 27, 2009. He was a cherished father to five girls, Anita, Merri Ann, Callie, Pamela and Leanna; a devoted ex-husband to Patsy Ann Hodgins; brother to Dennis and Doug Cook; an adoring grandfather to 13; and great-grandfather to 11. He has gone to join his grandson, Brad Shirey and great-granddaughter, Alexis Salas. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in the names of Tom Hodgins, Alexis Salas and Donna Baumsteiger. A celebration of his life will be held at Lemon Grove VFW Hall, 6873 Federal Blvd., Lemon Grove, Calif., Aug. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory.
