William “Bill” R. Nelson, 76, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. He was born on Nov. 27, 1932, in New York City, to William and Loretta (Copeland) Nelson.
Bill moved to Lake Havasu City 13 years ago, from Garden Grove, Calif. He worked as a bill blocker for C.M.E. Trucking Company in Los Angeles, Calif., for 18 years. Bill was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge No. 2399 and also the Elks Lodge in Garden Grove.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Turpin; sons, Michael Nelson and Greg Green; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild, plus one on the way, due Jan. 23, 2010. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 19 years, Katherine Nelson, and second wife of 33 years, Julie Ann Nelson.
Funeral Services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel Thursday at 9 a.m. Words of wisdom and inspiration will be expressed by Rev. Richard Rounds. Burial will take place at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach, Calif.
