Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, July 28, 2009 Emma Louise Hernandez passed away on July 3, 2009. She was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Indiana to John and Veryle (Smith) Payne. Emma was truly a special lady. She had such excitement for her sports, collections, pets and cooking. Emma's smile was so pure that it truly projected this childlike joy, as she would speak of people and things she loved or new things she had experienced. Emma's smile was a wonderful thing to see. Emma was so giving with her love, generosity and time. She not only opened her heart, but often her home to help others. She was not only "Mom" to her children, but to so many more that she had helped. Emma will be greatly missed and loved always; as "Mom", “Nance", "Tia" and friend. She belonged to the Moose lodge, Elks, Eagles, Ladies Auxiliary and VFW. She is survived by children, Amador Jesus Hernandez (Jess), John Henry Hernandez, Alfonso and Theresa Evelyn Hernandez, Francisco Hernandez (Kiko), Casey Lee Hernandez, Lye Anthony Hernandez; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; as well as her companion Ernest Canfield.
