ROMERO, Michael James


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/25/2010 Michael James Romero, 35, was called back home by our heavenly Father June 21, 2010. He was born May 5, 1975 in Tucson but moved to Show Low in 1984 where he attended Show Low schools, before he moved back to Tucson around 1992, where he graduated from Sunnyside High School. He attended Tucson Institute, where he got his certification for computer tech. Michael was a outstanding softball player (Romero's Gang), loving father, son, nephew, son-in-law, brother, Tio and cousin. He was always there to make you laugh if you were down. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Michael was survived by his wife, Myra Romero; sons Kelby, Deion, Andrew and Isaiah (Guero Canelo); parents Sandy and Hector Soto; brother Hector, Jr.; sister Monica; sister-in-law Sabrina; brothers-in-law Paulie and Duran Gomez; godfather to Erica Gutierrez, Victoria Soto, and Trinity Moreno and several cousins and friends who loved him as a brother. He was preceded in death by his Tata Polo and Nana Matilde Romero, Tata Jose and Nana Bellen Soto, Tio Johnny, Tio Gilbert and Tia Maria. Visitation will be held from 5-10 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (South Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave. in Tucson, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be offered Monday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave, Tucson.
