The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/24/2006 April Mary Austin, 15, died Monday, March 20, 2006 as a result of an automobile accident between Payson and Winslow. She was born April 21, 1990 in Kingman. Her family moved to Holbrook when she started school. She was a sophomore at Holbrook High School. April was involved in Weight Training and had been selected as student of the month twice, the last being for this month of March. She was active in school and will be missed by all of her friends. April attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Courty and Dennis Warren of Holbrook; father, Carl Austin of Deming, New Mexico; brother, Raul (Stephanie) Gurule of Holbrook; sister, Carla (Daniel) Luna of Holbrook; stepbrother, Carl Austin, Jr. of Texas; grandmother, Frances Gurule of Holbrook; grandparents, Floyd and Mary Austin of Deming, New Mexico and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 23 at the church.
