Ellen Rose Currey Beloved mother, grandma, friend went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. Born January 12, 1937 in Laurel County, London, Kentucky to Deca May Jackson and Clyde Petrey, her fondest memories of childhood were the many years she was raised there by her Granny, Valerie Jane Jackson and Pap Pap, Charlie Jackson. Starting her family in Michigan and settling in Tucson, Ellen pursued her career in the real estate industry as a licensed agent, broker and owner of The Property Shop. Ellen enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, dancing the Texas two-step, entering baked goods into the Pima County Fair and always had a dish of food and water for the neighborhood cats. Survived by three daughters and grandchildren, Deborah Lynn Lafayette and her children, Vanessa, Travis, Ben, Logan and Woody; Pamela Dawn Currey-Neiman and her children, Amanda Rose and Jay Jay and Laura Jane Currey-Ward, husband, John and their children, Luke and Jack. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. She will be laid to rest in her "Old Kentucky Home" at Ward Cemetery, London, Kentucky. "He turns His face towards you and gives you peace."
