BORTH, Marilyn (Sally)

Marylin "Sally" (Karber) Borth died peacefully in Tucson June 21, 2010. Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Della Thompson; daughter, Judy Karber; son, Bill Borth and husband, Will "Willie" Borth. Survived by siblings, Anna Mae Valentine (Jim), Harry Jay Thompson (Helen); dear friend, David Karlen; children, Robbie Borth, Donna Linda Post (Bruce), Roger Karber (Diane), Scott Karber (Kathy), Jill "Jillian" McKey (Woody); grandchildren, Ashleigh Ballinger (Geoff), Bradley Karber, Dave Post (Adrienne), Graham Karber, Joseph Karber, Lily Karber, Maria Karber, Melissa Karber, Suzanne Borth (Jeff) Travis McKey; great-grandchildren, Erin, Ethan, Lorelei, Tommy, Violette Louise. Born near St. Johns, MI, Sally arrived with her young family in Tucson in 1959 where she remained permanently. She was remarried in 1978, to firefighting captain and Tucson hero, Willie Borth. Family and friends will forever remember Sally as one of the most upbeat, generous, and colorful people in town. She loved her church, family and friends very dearly, and liked reading, dancing, music, travel, people, and puzzles. WE LOVE YOU, SALLY! Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 26, 2010, 11:30 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1145 E. Fort Lowell Rd., Tucson, AZ. Trisagion Prayer Service will be held Friday, June 25, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd., Tucson, AZ. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, c/o Fr. Philip Nixon. Arrangements entrusted to ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 520-327-6341.
